String Orchestra comprises students who are proficient or advanced in their instrument. String Orchestra is a year-long class open to all students who qualify. Prior experience at the middle school level is required (students with no previous experience on string instruments who show interest in joining must have prior knowledge of music from another performing ensemble). The group participates in school concerts and the CMEA Orchestra festival each year. During the school year the students work on basic fundamentals of the string instrument, daily rehearsal techniques, and play different genres of literature.
