Locally known for its tradition and award-winning musical performances, the Tulare Union Tribe consists of students who perform music for their own sake and build strength through competition as a team. During the fall marching season, the band competes in local, and regional competitions. Last year the Marching Band competed in the California School Band and Color Guard Association (CSBCA) Championships, placing in the top half consistently. In other years they have traveled to Fresno, California to compete in the Western Band Association (WBA) Championships. In the spring, this selective group prepares and performs high-level works for concert band. These works are well suited for this smaller ensemble (35-45 musicians.) This Ensemble is the most advanced concert ensemble at Tulare Union High School, performing at local and regional wind band festivals as well as performances on the school campus. The Advanced Band is under the Direction of Mario Capote.
